We all take special measures to take care of our skin in the sun, however few people realise the importance of protecting your eyes from harmful UV radiation. We can supply both prescription and non-prescription spectacles to help care for your eyes.
All our sunglasses conform to British standards to ensure you get appropriate protection from harmful UV radiation. This allows you to relax and choose a fashionable pair of frames knowing your eyes will be well looked after. It is important to remember UV is present in the atmosphere even on the cloudiest of days.
Polarised lenses
For the most effective way to reduce glare is to upgrade to a polarising lens. They not only reduce brightness but also eliminate harsh glare and reflections. These are particularly effective in situations involving reflective surfaces for example: water on a road, car windscreens, water based activities e.g. fishing etc. Ask one of our dispensers in store to demonstrate the difference these lenses make.
Photochromic Lenses
Do you struggle with glare and discomfort caused by the sun, resulting in headaches, eyes fatigue and visual discomfort? Photochromic lenses could be the answer. These lenses react and turn dark like sunglasses outside in sunlight and return to clear lenses when inside. They also provide you with UV protection to help keep your eyes healthy.
From dawn until dusk wherever you are, you can have clear comfortable vision with just one pair of spectacles, removing the inconvenience of needing to swap between spectacles. We are aware modern windscreens in cars have UV filters which means the original photochromic lenses don’t react as effectively behind the wheel. We now have access to an “extra active” version that activate effectively to reduce sunlight and glare even when behind a windscreen.
